In response to a Department of Commerce request for comment on how to promote U.S. competitiveness and exports of clean technologies, Auto Innovators submitted comments emphasizing the need for a robust market for EVs in the U.S. This need requires supply-side and demand-side policies to grow charging and hydrogen refueling infrastructure, build and/or retool manufacturing and supply chains, and grow consumer awareness and adoption of all electric vehicles, including plug-in hybrid, battery and fuel cell electric vehicles. In addition, Auto Innovators promoted ten specific tasks that will be necessary for the transition to vehicle electrification.
