ALLIANCE FOR AUTOMOTIVE INNOVATION ANNOUNCES TOYOTA AS 2021 BOARD CHAIR
Toyota to continue leading advocacy efforts for a cleaner, safer, and smarter automotive future
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Alliance for Automotive Innovation (Auto Innovators), the singular, authoritative, and respected voice of the automotive industry, has announced that Chris Reynolds, Chief Administrative Officer, Corporate Resources for Toyota Motor North America has become the Association’s 2021 Board Chair. General Motors President Mark Reuss served as Auto Innovators’ inaugural Chair last year.
“Continuing to have our members’ senior leadership involved with our board enables Auto Innovators to continue making bold moves that meaningfully impact innovation policy,” said Auto Innovators President and CEO John Bozzella. “I am looking forward to working with Chris to build on the great work that Mark led the association through in 2020.”
“As we welcome the incoming Biden-Harris Administration and the 117th Congress, I am honored to serve as Chair of the Alliance for Automotive Innovation,” said Reynolds. “The automotive industry has some tough challenges ahead, but there are also great opportunities as we work together to transform our industry to cleaner, safer and more connected forms of mobility.”
“The launch of our new association last January was well-timed to help convene the industry around a common set of principles, and to help work together toward achieving our goals, particularly with the unprecedented challenges we faced,” said Mark Reuss, President, General Motors. “It was an honor to serve as the first chair of the Alliance for Automotive Innovation, and I’m confident that under the leadership of new chair Chris Reynolds, we will continue our one-industry approach as we work to transform mobility.”
Auto Innovators’ members represent 99 percent of cars and light trucks sold in the United States, as well as original equipment suppliers, technology, and other automotive-related companies.
