Alliance for Automotive Innovation Names Sarah Puro Vice President, Safety and Technology Policy

Senior NTSB advisor, Congressional budget analyst and longtime Capitol Hill staffer will develop automotive safety and tech policy agenda

 

WASHINGTON, DC – Alliance for Automotive Innovation today announced Sarah Puro as Vice President, Safety and Technology Policy, effective immediately.

Puro will oversee the association’s safety and technology portfolio and drive policy development and advocacy strategy on behalf of the automotive industry in Washington, D.C. and state capitals.

Puro joins Alliance for Automotive Innovation from the National Transportation Safety Board where they served as a senior advisor to Chair Jennifer Homendy. NTSB investigates approximately 2,500 transportation accidents annually.

Earlier, Puro held senior policy roles at the U.S. House Committee on Appropriations (Transportation, Housing and Urban Development subcommittee) and as a principal analyst at the U.S. Congressional Budget Office where they made budget projections on $130 billion in transportation spending (including the Highway Trust Fund) and $48 billion in infrastructure spending in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

Puro earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Macalester College and a Master of Public Policy from the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago.
