Statement on the President’s EV Infrastructure Proposals
‘To be successful, an infrastructure bill must give careful consideration to all stakeholders, and take a bipartisan approach to help consumers and workers, as well as support innovation and U.S. competitiveness.’
Following statement attributable to Auto Innovators President and CEO John Bozzella:
“The auto industry is committed to working toward a net-zero carbon transportation future that includes a shift to electric-drive vehicles. Our industry has called for a comprehensive approach focused on consumers, infrastructure, manufacturing, innovation and supply chain resiliency. We appreciate the President’s focus on the broad investments necessary for the United States to lead in the development and adoption of innovative vehicle technologies.
“A bold, comprehensive strategy is required to establish the U.S. as a leader in the next generation of clean transportation innovation. Efforts that incentivize wider-scale EV adoption, build out the necessary infrastructure, and facilitate consumer awareness are essential components to EV market expansion. As we work towards the future of clean transportation, it will be critical to ensure this transition benefits all communities, supports American workers, and enhances U.S. competitiveness and economic security.
“To be successful, an infrastructure bill must give careful consideration to all stakeholders, and take a bipartisan approach to help consumers and workers, as well as support innovation and U.S. competitiveness.”
