Communications veteran brings decades of experience; will further strengthen Auto Innovators’ work advocating for cleaner, safer, smarter mobility.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Alliance for Automotive Innovation (Auto Innovators) today announced that Brian Weiss will join the association staff as Vice President of Communications effective March 8. Weiss comes to Auto Innovators from USTelecom – The Broadband Association, where he served as Vice President of Communications and Media Affairs. His background also includes senior roles in the U.S. Senate, the U.S. Small Business Administration, media companies and journalism.
“In this time of economic and technological transformation, telling the industry’s story of how automotive innovation supports consumers, workers, and the public has never been more important,” said Auto Innovators President and CEO John Bozzella. “Brian will play a key role in guiding our organization’s future-focused efforts and initiatives.”
“I am looking forward to joining the team at Auto Innovators,” said Weiss. “My first job in high school was as a valet parker at a golf club and where my lifelong passion for cars began. You only had to watch the Super Bowl ads (or catch them on YouTube) to know that the revolution in automotive innovation isn’t coming – it’s already here. What a great moment to be part of this transformation and help tell this cultural, economic, safety and sustainability story for the companies leading the way.”
While at USTelecom, Weiss oversaw all communications, media and digital strategy activities related to internet and broadband infrastructure, cybersecurity and supply chain, 5G and next generation connectivity and privacy among other topics. For more than a decade, he was a senior advisor, communications director and spokesperson for multiple U.S. senators, including Sens. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif, Evan Bayh, D-Ind., and John Breaux, D-La. Weiss graduated from the University of Pennsylvania.
